Rob Smith is the senior business consulting advisor for the Business Consulting division of Blue Trust.

With over 23 years’ experience in business consulting, Rob provides a broad range of business consulting services to all Blue Trust financial advisors. He accomplishes this by educating and equipping advisors to identify and develop business consulting opportunities with new and existing clients in order to increase the quality of the company’s business consulting offering.

Prior to joining the company, Rob was the chief operating officer of RSIP Management, where he developed a finance and management platform and conducted all operational functions. He previously served as a managing director of Robert Half International/Protiviti, Inc., where he was a leader in the restructuring, financial investigations, valuation, interim management, and transactional practice for lower middle market to Fortune 500 companies.

Rob earned his BA in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his JD and MBA from the University of Richmond. He enjoys hiking and camping with his family and spending time renovating and restoring historic homes. Active in his community, he is a member of a local church and co-founded the Richmond chapter of the New Canaan Society.

Rob and his wife, Sarah, have two sons and live in Richmond, Virginia.
