Financial Advisor for Christian Women Shares Why She Wrote Women of Worth
Written by Bethany Frymire, Financial Advisor in Blue Trust’s Everyday Steward Division.
Ten years ago, if someone had told me I would one day write a book about financial confidence, I would have quietly dismissed the idea. For a long time, I was the woman who felt like an imposter in her own life. On paper, I was working toward becoming a financial professional. But in reality, I often felt like I was paddling furiously under the surface, unsure whether I truly belonged.
I wrote Women of Worth because I realized I wasn’t the only one paddling.
There is a startling disconnect in the world of women and wealth. Research shows that 94% of women believe they will be personally responsible for their finances at some point in their lives. Yet, despite this overwhelming reality, only 28% of women feel empowered to take action.
That gap between responsibility and confidence often creates uncertainty. But financial wisdom isn’t about being a math genius; it’s about clarity, confidence, and education. Financial understanding is essential–not only for personal security, but for the stability and well-being of the families and communities we influence.
In Women of Worth, I move past the complex spreadsheets to ask the questions that actually drive behavior. Here are the top five financial lessons from the book that can help every woman move from uncertainty to engaged stewardship.
5 Key Financial Lessons for Women
- Your Net Worth is Not Your Self-Worth We live in a culture that constantly measures value by accumulation—credit scores, bank balances, and possessions. It is easy to attach your identity to these numbers. However, money is a tool–useful, influential, and ultimately secondary to who you are. It is never a measure of your value. Financial confidence grows when you recognize that your worth is inherent, not earned.
- You Are Called to Lead, Not Just Observe Women are not meant to stand on the sidelines of their financial lives. Rather we are meant to play an integral role. The Hebrew word ezer kenegdo in the Bible is a military term meaning “warrior helper” or “lifesaver.” We have the capacity to do hard things and the insight to make an impact. Whether you are single or married, you have a meaningful role in financial decisions, and your perspective matters.
- Stewardship Brings Peace Financial anxiety often reflects a desire for certainty about the future. Recognizing that we are stewards–not ultimate owners–can shift how we hold our resources. When you shift your mindset from ownership (clinging tightly to your resources) to stewardship (holding them with an open hand), that shift brings a measure of peace.
- Simplify with “Bucket Budgeting” Financial clarity requires intentionality, but it doesn’t require complexity. One of the most effective strategies is to simplify your cash flow into “buckets.” By separating fixed expenses (mortgage, bills) from variable expenses (groceries, gas), you assign each dollar a clear purpose. This simple system reduces mental load and allows you to make spending decisions with confidence instead of second-guessing.
- Legacy is Cultivated, Not Just Inherited We often think of legacy as the money we leave for someone. But true legacy is what you nurture in them. We have the opportunity to model generosity and pass on wisdom to the next generation. Teaching children that money is a resource to steward rather than an end in itself, lays the groundwork for generosity, wisdom, and lasting values.
Biblical wisdom paired with thoughtful financial planning can bring clarity where uncertainty once existed. My hope is that this book helps women realize they don’t have to stay in the background. Women are worthy, capable, and entrusted with meaningful responsibility. With the right guidance and understanding, they can approach their finances with clarity and confidence.
